Ben has worked in the heritage industry for six months. He has experience in built heritage archival recordings, historical assessments, company administration, and aboriginal archaeological site salvage. Ben has worked on sections of large multi-phase projects such as Windsor Bridge Detailed Archival Recording and Westconxex Archival recording of St Peters to a satisfactory standard and has assisted in developing heritage management strategies of sites, such as the Nepean Dam Spillway Model. He has been involved in site surveys and assisted in photography for projects such as the John Holland Rail Timber Underbridges Assessment and Rudder Bond Store Archival Recording.
Previously Ben has been involved in student excavations on the Roman archaeology site of Carsulae in Italy contributing to excavations, pottery sketches, and written analysis. He has taken courses at Macquarie University in Heritage conservation, ancient Greece history, ancient Roman history, archaeology, Latin, the ancient Greek language and German. He completed two major research projects during his time at Macquarie University; a study on the Roman perspective on Greek history in the Mid-Republican period, and a study analysing comedic-violence in Aristophanes’ plays.
