Kelsey has 17 years experience in field and laboratory-based archaeology and is a Senior Heritage Advisor in the Brisbane office. Her specialities include archaeological geophysics, geoarchaeology and geographic information systems (GIS). Kelsey has both national and international experience in cultural heritage management, including archival research and Indigenous community consultation in Australia and the United States. She has conducted archaeological surveys for oil and gas leasing, as well as with federal and state agencies regarding cultural heritage projects (excavations, monitoring, and mitigation).
Additionally, Kelsey is involved in several research projects in Australia, Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, South America and Southeast Asia. Her international experience has allowed her to develop a practical knowledge of heritage legislation and management as well as community engagement in both Australia and overseas. Kelsey’s multidisciplinary background has seen her involved in public archaeology and broader community engagement. Through her heritage work related to post-hurricane Katrina archaeology in coastal Mississippi, she engaged in many community-based projects that included public outreach programs for children and adults, and collaboration with local organisations and universities along the Gulf Coast.
