Peter was founding director of Archaeological & Heritage Management Solutions, the consultancy firm that merged with Futurepast Heritage to form Extent Heritage. He has worked in the fields of Aboriginal and Polynesian archaeology, historical archaeology and cultural heritage management since 1984.
Peter directed and/or participated in well over 1000 archaeological survey projects, excavations and assessments. He has worked as a field investigator with forensic teams investigating the disappearances of people in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, East Timor and Mexico, in addition to working as instructor to the Australian Federal Police Forensic Teams. He has served on various Government heritage advisory panels and taught heritage courses at the University of Technology, Sydney and University of New South Wales.
Peter is a Director of Extent Heritage. He now works part-time with the firm, where his specialist skills in the design and delivery of machine-assisted archaeological excavation and identification of unmarked human burials and mass graves are deployed in mentoring and advisory roles.
